Tsidii first rose to international prominence for her role as Rafiki in Disney's original stage production of The Lion King, where she originated the character on Broadway. Her performance earned her widespread critical acclaim including a Tony Award nomination, and introduced global audiences to her extraordinary vocal ability and magnetic storytelling. Her voice is featured on the Grammy Award-winning original cast album, including as the lead vocal on the hit opening song "Circle of Life" Additionally, she has won several top awards, including the Outer Critics Award, Drama League Award and the Drama Desk Award. She has collaborated and toured with in various international companies including Riverdance on Broadway, solidifying her reputation as a world-class theatrical performer. Tsidii, who hails from the Kingdom of Lesotho (a country completely land-locked by South Africa), is the first female artist from the region of Southern Africa to be awarded the prestigious Ivor Novello Award for International Achievement in Musical Theatre from The British Academy of Composers and Songwriters. Tsidii is currently the only international award-winning female singer on the international scene from The Kingdom of Lesotho. Beyond musical theatre, Tsidii has built a diverse career as a recording artist and live performer. Her music blends African traditional influences with jazz, soul and contemporary sounds, reflecting both her heritage and artistic versatility. She has shared the stage with and / or recorded with various respected artists including Max Roach, Yusef Lateef, Harry Belafonte, Miriam Makeba, Sting and Elton John.
