Lakisha Jones

Lakisha Jones was a single mother and bank employee originally from Flint, Michigan who always dreamed of making it big in the music business, and she had the pipes to do just that!

Lakisha, who bears a vocal and physical resemblance to Aretha Franklin, blew away American Idol judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson with Aretha's "Think" and "Until You Come Back to Me." Even judge Simon Cowell smiled. "Love this girl," he said. "Love you, Lakisha. You're a good old-fashioned belter."

In her appearances on the show, Jones always appeared humble before the judges, and enveloped in everything that is her family, especially her daughter, Brionne.
Lakisha says she most admires Whitney Houston and also closely identifies with Fantasia Barrino, a single mother and previous American Idol Champion from Season Three.

Lakisha is just getting started with an acclaimed CD, 'So Glad I'm Me,' as she continues her rise to the top.
