RENEE TAYLOR (TV’s THE NANNY’S MOM) AND ACCLAIMED ACTOR JOE BOLOGNA STAR IN A REVIVAL OF THEIR HIT BROADWAY COMEDY IT HAD TO BE YOU MARCH 25TH THROUGH APRIL 6TH, 2003 AT FT. LAUDERDALE’S PARKER PLAYHOUSE.

FORT LAUDERDALE - After selling out with their pre-Broadway stop of If You Ever Leave Me...I’m Going With You, Renee Taylor and Joe Bologna -- real life husband and wife – are returning to the Parker Playhouse from March 25th – April 6th, 2003 with a reprise of their hit Broadway play, It Had To Be You. Co-written by Taylor and Bologna, this is the story of Theda Blau (Taylor), a struggling Hollywood B movie actress and wannabe playwright -- seeking love and success in New York. Vito Pignoli (Bologna) is a super successful television commercial director. Theda meets Vito by auditioning for him and then convinces him to become her partner in dramaturgy and marriage...by holding him hostage in her apartment on a snowy Christmas Eve.

The show has garnered rave reviews. Liz Smith exclaimed, "Audiences fell out of their seats laughing!" Dennis Cunningham of WCBS TV called it "A comic miracle of non-stop laughter!" Clive Barnes of the New York Post said, "I love it! Sweet, funny and sassy!"

Married on The Merv Griffin Show in 1965, the duo wrote the Broadway play Lovers and Other Strangers, in which Bologna made his acting debut. They then collaborated on the screen version earning their first Oscar nomination and critical acclaim. In 1971, they co-wrote Made for Each Other, which launched Mr. Bologna’s feature film career (Blame It On Rio, Big Daddy). The feature was re-released in 1985 and has developed a tremendous cult following. Bologna and Taylor received an Emmy Award for co-writing the television special Acts of Love and Other Comedies. They wrote and co-starred in the television special, Bedrooms, for which they received a Writers Guild award. The duo also created the television series Calucci’s Department on CBS.
