Review of Lynda Carter in Concert

REVIEW:

“AN INTIMATE EVENING WITH LYNDA CARTER”

Listen to KGO review .mp3 NYC clip.

Lynda Carter is most famous for her TV appearance as Wonder Woman followed by becoming Miss World USA.  But she actually started her show business career as a singer.  Well, Lynda Carter is making her debut into the world of cabaret and doing it together with her debut at the Empire Plush Room.  With gracious stage presence and a winning smile—and looking absolutely gorgeous—she wowed her opening night packed house with a repertoire of great old standards.  By the way, her welcoming by the audience—before even singing a number—was the longest and loudest I’ve ever heard at the Plush Room.  And the applause and catcalls continued throughout the evening.  The audience was treated to one of the most beautiful voices now performing in cabaret.  Backed by an exquisite quintet of piano, guitar, keyboard, bass and drums, she had the audience in the palm of her hand.  It was one of those magic nights—one of the finest cabaret shows I’ve ever seen.  “An Intimate Evening with Lynda Carter” is now playing in the Empire Plush Room in the York Hotel thru May 6th.  It’s magnificent and what cabaret is all about.
